Frankenstein (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)

Frankenstein (Barnes & Noble Classics Series) - God awful. Nothing like what the movies have portrayed this monster to be.First of all, Mary Shelley wrote this book on a bet that she could write a better book than her husband and her husband's best friend. My God I do not want to even know what those other books were about! This was seriously horrible and took me FOREVER to read! I did not want to stop reading this because it is a classic and many monster stories are based off of this grand idea.Well...I could honestly have done without. I could have lived my whole life thinking that Frankenstein was a wonderful scary concept and never know the real adventures (if you could call them that!) of it.Nothing really happened during the course of the entire book AND the part that really pissed me off was the fact that Frankenstein said he would tell the readers later on in the book how he went about creating this creature, and that was the only reason I kept reading. I was more interested in the medicinal and anatomy parts of the being, not the godlike complex that he had deseperately bestowed upon himself. And everyone died! What the heck? That wasn't a story that was a horrible waste of my time. Ugh-yuck! Now I feel like I have to wash my mouth out and start fresh. I need a mental palate cleanser and a great book after reading this one.Very disappointed.
